Existing farm buildings have been converted into comfortable, cosy accommodation. Join us on the farm as a wedding guest, with your colleagues on a corporate break-away, or for a mini-break with your loved ones.
Room 2-6. Originally built as classrooms with salvaged materials including antique windows and parquet flooring from sites in Pretoria’s “old east”. The classrooms were converted into guest rooms in 2012 , but were later gutted in a fire in 2017. We had to rebuild the rooms in a period of three months due to the fact that we were fully booked almost 18 months in advance! We are proud of the contemporary spaces that have been created with the eclectic combination of existing infrastructure, recycled materials and modern furniture.
The Suite: The Waldorf School’s first matric class sat here and their blackboard was against the wall behind the fireplace! We rebuilt the rooms after the fire, this time creating a larger space with extra ablutions, ideal for the bridal party to get ready in their big day and to enjoy the beautiful view from the luxurious bathtub.
THE GARDEN COTTAGE
The Garden Cottage was a practical building project by The Waldorf School’s first matric class in 1987. It was converted, in record time, into our first guest room (Bridal Suite) in 2011. Suzanne and Sarel were the first couple to stay over and with the help of their wedding video featuring the venue and cottage, we embarked on a trajectory of growth for Rosemary Hill as a premier wedding destination.
The beautiful villa was designed by the late Ronél Visser and was completed in 1990. Subsequent to their retirement and move to the Cape, we took over the property and made it available to guests visiting Rosemary Hill Farm. The sunset vistas from the patio are something to behold!
22 GUESTS EACH
The buildings were originally built as boarding houses for an agricultural college. Over the years they also accommodated high school boarders, a youth ministry and even an old-age home. We were very excited to oversee the evolution of these spaces into spacious user-friendly facilities for large families, couples or groups of friends to get together and enjoy their break-away on the farm.
2-4 GUESTS EACH
Originally built as a multifunctional studio space and later used as a ward for an old-age home, this building has enjoyed an incredible makeover! Lourens, one of the owners, immediately insisted that we turn it into three Lofts with beautiful sunset views. This was our first foray into building residential units from scratch and we had a lot of fun. It was the start of our love affair with basic plain pine finishes, as you can see from the counter tops, stairs, and bedroom furniture.
