This unique collection of pods and cabins is due to grow in the near future as we work on new exciting ways to build and innovate.

Situated west of the Maze, Cabinville boasts some of the best sunset views on the farm. Whether you are booking a night or two as a staycation, or stopping over on a road trip – this is the ideal spot. Taking a stroll to the coffee shop for breakfast will only take three minutes and if you are attending an event in the Distillery or Barn, you are barely a stones-throw away. Parking is close by, while each unit has uninterrupted views – as well as sufficient privacy.

The first four units in Cabinville were recently completed and we are proud to announce that they are off-grid. We installed phase 1 of our solar farm on the Distillery roof, adjacent to which we built a strongroom to house the inverters and battery packs for night-time consumption. All residences and function venues on the property also have generator back-up for load shedding and other unforeseen outages.

This one-of-a-kind container cabin was such an adventure to design! We learnt as we worked, and found creative ways to incorporate all the essential amenities required in a luxury cabin, with some fun, quirky features added. We made use of various recycled building materials, from the actual shipping container (with it’s original floor planks!) to the cladding, ceiling materials, beadings, bricks and sanitary equipment, all the way through to the cooking-oil drums used to cast the concrete columns on which the frame rests!

The result of this labour of love is a bespoke double-storey unit with a queen-sized bed and unique free-standing bath upstairs – boasting views only surpassed once you discover the sunset views on the elevated chill net! The cabin has a fully equipped kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower (in addition to the free standing bath upstairs).

If your booking date is more than 90 days away, a 50% deposit is required when you book and the remaining 50% is payable 90 days before your check-in date (you will automatically receive an email reminder from us). If we do not receive your deposit or final payment, your booking will be cancelled.

These curved cabins were born from an idea we got after a friend shared a video of similar units abroad.  We made use of what we had and put our guys to work: The result is a compact, well laid out space with all the essentials required for an overnight stay.  The beautifully appointed kitchenette & wardrobe unit designed by Raw studios adds a refined touch that elegantly compliments the modern decor.

The curved bathroom is quirky and unique with the tiled details sure to feature in many an Instagram post.  Guests can lounge on the private patio or star-gaze on their own chill net over-looking the large pond.

The BigPod is our latest addition to Cabinville and was built in record time: 35 days from start to finish! Our team embraced lessons learnt from the Cabin and first three Pods and took this unit to another level. They pulled out all the stops and created a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that will be difficult to improve on. All the interior cladding, beds and stairs are made from reclaimed wood and all design elements are functional yet eye-catching. The colour palette is light and comforting with various mood-light options used throughout.

The unit comprises a downstairs bedroom with a queen bed, spacious bathroom with a shower, an open plan, well-appointed kitchen, generous patio with a braai area. Upstairs has a double bed and two single beds. There is an aircon unit upstairs for hot summer nights or to turn up the heat during winter… either way, this is the perfect spot to curl up with a good book or just laze on a lounger and watch the sunset.

Guests staying over on the farm can enjoy a complimentary breakfast from 07h30 – 09h30. Upon check-in, your Accommodation Manager will communicate the specific venue to you (which is subject to availability). The Breakfast is served from 07:30 – 09:30 to allow you to return to your room to pack up and check out by 10am.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS: Bring your bike and try our 33km trail. Ask your Accommodation Manager for a complimentary day pass!


TRAIL RUNNING: Trail runners can enjoy the 5km or 11km routes. Our trails comprise mostly single track with some jeep track and occasional paved areas. The routes are laid out as a tour through the farm and we have introduced some man-made obstacles to keep things interesting. You can pick up your trail pass at the coffee shop.

ANIMALS: Although this is not Big 5 country, you are visiting us on a farm and you might come across wild rabbits, donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, guinea fowl, meerkat, bush babies and a rich variety of birdlife.


COFFEE SHOP: Breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed on the patio in the Summer or inside next to the warm fireplace in Winter. No reservation required, service is on a first come first serve basis. For menu and trading hours click here


FARM SHOP: We launched our very own range of hand wash, body wash, hand & body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, linen mist, insect repellent and room spray – all manufactured with essential oils distilled right here on the farm and available for purchase in the coffee shop. We also have homemade baked goods and sweet treats available like fudge, brownies, biscuits, rusks and fresh bread.


MAZE: Take a stroll through our beautiful formal garden. Situated next to our wooden Barn, the Maze is 80m in diameter and is made up of over 2km of pathways and over 2000 trees, herbs and shrubs! Summer, Winter, Autumn or Spring – the Maze always looks beautiful! A lovely garden but also a venue for open-air concerts, weddings, christenings, art exhibitions etc.

TRANSPORT & UBER:
Please note that we do not offer guest transport. We do not recommend coming with an Uber as not all the units are close to everything (you will need to pack in comfortable shoes to walk in).

Please let us know if you require any of the following:

•Extra mattresses for children (2024): 2 – 12 years (R390) | 13-18 years (R530) | Camping cot (R120 – please bring own linen).

* Maximum one extra mattress/ camp cot per unit and subject to availability.
* Some units are not suited to accommodate an extra mattress due to space constraints.
* Mattresses are for children under 18 only. Adults must please book their own rooms, or if we are fully booked, there are guesthouses down the road.
* Rates include breakfast the next morning.

NOISE RESTRICTIONS
We kindly ask that you be considerate after 22h00 with group gatherings, music and noise.

No pets allowed at accommodation units, sorry!

WORKING FARM 
Please note that this is a working farm, therefore trucks, tractors, staff and maintenance teams are going about their daily business, caring for and improving our facilities. There might be construction in progress near your unit during working hours. Thank you for understanding!

LOST & FOUND POLICY
We kindly ask that you do a thorough room-check before departing. If you leave personal items behind our process is as follows: Our Housekeeping team takes it to the office where it is entered into a register and kept for safekeeping. Guests are then contacted and informed that we found some of their items in the room. Arrangements are made for the collection. If it is not collected within 4 weeks from your date of departure, we donate it to the charities that we support.

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY:
50% deposit is required upon booking, and the remainder is due three months before your arrival date (at which point you can also cancel the booking). If your arrival date is less than three months away, then the full amount is payable upon booking. A refund will only be possible if we are able to rebook your unit.
